LTD Country Squire in CHiPs episode

C.H.i.Ps (1977 - 1983). Features an LTD in just about every TV episode. You can frequently find re-runs showing on TNT. I haven't seen C.H.i.Ps 99 so I can't vouch for any LTD's being in it (unless you count Crown Victorias as LTD's but no purist ever would). Still, if you're curious... Check out the VHS at Amazon.com

An LTD in a yet-to-be-identified Bronson movie

Mr. Majestyk (1974). This Charles Bronson movie features an LTD Convertible full of bad guys trying to make an escape. Then sneaky Bronson foils them at their hideout by making off with their keys! (Thanks to Alex in California for naming this previously unidentified movie) Check out the VHS at Amazon.com

Jurassic 5's Quality Control video (2000). An LTD wagon cruises the streets in Jurassic 5's "Quality Control" video. Features road and interior shots. Watch the video (requires RealPlayer)

Suburbia (1971). An Penelope Spheris film about bunch of homeless punk rock kids who live in an abandoned suburban tract house and an LTD. According to Bill from L.A. who saw this film, "The main guy (I think the singer of D.I., an old Orange County pun kroque band) had an incredible '72 LTD that was used throughout the whole movie, for various purposes" Check out the DVD at Amazon.com

BMX Bandits (1984).  Nicole Kidman helps chase some bad guys who are cruising around Sydney, Australia in a 1972 Black LTD, Right Hand Drive with a really funky moon roof (thanks to Oscar Rodriguez in Germany for this sighting!) Check out the VHS at Amazon.com

Ice Storm (1997). "During my evening ritual of changing channels, an inexplicable power compelled me to watch an otherwise boring movie. Luckily the miracle unfolded before me soon afterwards: one of the families in the movie drive a very nice 1972 Ford LTD Country Squire. The scene I witnessed is the one of the land yacht driving up to a chalet/house (nice frontal view) and parking right in front of it (perfect full side view). I already did some background checks and apparently the movie is set in 1973, so the model year could be correct. Can someone verify this?" (thanks to Dominik Thys in Belgium for this sighting!) Check out the VHS at Amazon.com / Check out the DVD at Amazon.com

Quicksilver (1986). If you're playing six-degrees-of-Kevin-Bacon with cars, here's your connection. A mid-70's LTD is driven by the Bad Guy (thanks to Brendon Vetuskey for this sighting, who also adds "there was even a cool scene at the end, but I won't spoil it.") Check out the VHS at Amazon.com

Halloween (1978). Michael Myers escapes from an Illinois mental hospital and steals a goverment-owned 1978 LTD wagon. There is a scene about 15 minutes into the film where the killer, dressed in his hospital gown, leaps on top of the LTD from behind. The scene is shot through the back window and the red glow from the brake lights makes it very, very scary! (thanks to Jason E. Lee for this sighting!) Check out the VHS at Amazon.com / Check out the DVD at Amazon.com
