At the Liverpool train station you can see the "Aboveground" and the "Underground" at the same time. The staircase reminds me a bit of the one at Grand Central Station in New York. We were upstairs watching the flow of people for a couple hours and it was interesting to see how certain waves of patterns developed.

There's a lot going on in this photograph with the multiple levels, interior and exterior, and variety of architecture and styles. Yet somehow, they all fit together to form a cohesive, functional, and pleasing whole.
